Reverbnation widget code insertion Discography page
-
Hi there, Happy New Year 2015! I have trouble with inserting Fancollector widget from Reverbnation into my site. I used Text widget to paste in code provided by Reverbnation which has two varieties:
1. normal:
<iframe class=”widget_iframe” src=”http://www.reverbnation.com/widget_code/html_widget/artist_4266566?widget_id=54&posted_by=artist_4266566&pwc[design]=customized&pwc[background_color]=%23333333&pwc[size]=fit” width=”100%” height=”185″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no”></iframe> and2. for secure sites:
<iframe class=”widget_iframe” src=”https://www.reverbnation.com/widget_code/html_widget/artist_4266566?widget_id=54&posted_by=artist_4266566&pwc[design]=customized&pwc[background_color]=%23333333&pwc[size]=fit” width=”100%” height=”185″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no”></iframe>Neither works. It displays as html coding on page.
Please tell me how to insert this widget into blog. I must have this up and running by 8 Jan when my début single is due out.
Also, could you please tell me how to set up Discography/Music page which can host more than one Music Player from Bandcamp.
Thanks! Dmitry

I tried to adjuste the code as follows:
<a href=”https://www.reverbnation.com/widget_code/html_widget/artist_4266566?widget_id=54&posted_by=artist_4266566&pwc[design]=customized&pwc[background_color]=%23333333&pwc[size]=fit” width=”100%” height=”185″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no”
/>It work for a Reverbantion in the 1st Column but not here. It doesn’t show as code on page but doesn’t show as widget either…

There are several types of embed code that we don’t allow on WordPress.com for security reasons, such as iframes and script. You can read more about the code we do and don’t allow here:
I’m not sure exactly what this code is supposed to look like, but you can create an image link using these directions:

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Thanks Shawna. There must be a way to put this Mailcollector from Reverbnation on the page. As I said, I have one widget from them installed at the bottom of the 1st (left) column on the front page here: http://metaquorum.uk/ I had problems with this months ago but was given advice from one of your colleagues who adjusted the code. Unfortunatelly, I am a dummy as far as coding goes so I forgot what the real problem was. I tried to adjust the code according to how it was changed for that widget but it didn’t work this time… But since it worked the first time, there must be the way!

Thanks for the details! I took a look at the code for your current Reverbnation link. Here’s what it looks like:
<a href="https://www.reverbnation.com/c./a4/10213658/4266566/Artist/4266566/Artist/link"><img alt="MetaQuorum" border="0" src="https://www.reverbnation.com/c./a3/10213658/4266566/Artist/4266566/Artist/res.gif" /></a>In order to modify this code, you’ll need the URL of the new profile and the URL of the image you want to use. Once you have those two pieces of information, you can use the directions at the link I gave you above to set this up. You’ll have an easier time using an Image widget than code in a Text widget.
Let me know if you need more help with that. :)

Thanks Shawna. I can only get the two versions of code for this widget from Reverbnation website. I don’t know where to get the URL for the image they use. Also, I don’t understand what you mean by ” the URL of the new profile”, can you clarify? Sorry, I don’t really know much about coding etc. :-)

No worries! I tried to go back through your ticket history and figure out where we got these links previously, but I couldn’t find another ticket about Reverbnation.
So here are some steps to find these links.
First, for “URL of the new profile” – I just meant the page that this image is meant to link to. When you click on the Reverbnation image on your site now, you get directed here:
https://www.reverbnation.com/c./a4/10213658/4266566/Artist/4266566/Artist/link
We’ll need the URL of the page you want people to land on when they click on your image.
And second, for the image URL – you can find this by right clicking on the image you want to display and selecting “Open Image in New Tab”. Copy the URL from the address bar.
Does that clear things up? Let me know if you have more questions. :)
