reverse order in sidebar of Archives and Categories in free plan

    I made a recent post and have been unable to change the order of Categories and Archives in the sidebar. I am a long-retired person who is unable to afford the business plan, since I am on a fixed income living in a low-income area and province.

    Also, I tried to log in on the forum page and the site did not recognize my email address or pasword. No new password email has yet been received.

    Hi John,

    You may reorder widgets by dragging and dropping them at Customize > Widgets > Widget area name. When they’re in the preferred order, then save the change by clicking the Publish button. This is available on the free plan.

    I’m not sure what you mean. You wouldn’t be able to submit a support request such as the one above if you weren’t logged into your WordPress.com account. If you aren’t logged into the account when you visit the forums, you won’t be able to either submit a request or respond on any forum topic until you do log in.

    Thanks so much for this help. I stayed with the classic format which I prefer to the blocks and hacked my way to success. the key was to save my work religiously. Not that I have high traffic or that I wish to build a commercial site. That part for me is long over. Wild big hair! hahaha

    Perhaps a method for more traffic, is to build far shorter chapters, since folks of all ages seem to have been dumbed down by all this posted data with far shorter attention spans. Also, video is becoming king, since people watch now and hardly read or listen as in good music stereo or multi-channel surround. It’s why I left the high-end HiFi world 20 years ago. hahaha

    Even the “classic” editor is beyond me. I’ll not give up my WP-Admin editors. hahaha

    I’m still confused by the predominance of one and two sentence paragraphs in published articles. People get paid for this?

    Florence, methinks the one and two sentence paragraphs are done not solely for visual effect. They can also act as a sort of mindful provocation if you will; vide in the same light as does the silence between notes in a musical score.

    ‘Sides, as Alan Watts tells it, the point is to play, indeed, the game of life; to sing and dance, since there’s no purpose to The Universe! That’s his take and as I age [uggh], I too am beginning to see ‘the light’. The sociopathic 1% are getting their way and laughing all the way to the edge of extinction…the 6th one! hahaha
