Reverse site deletion

  • Unknown's avatar

    I deleted my blog a couple of days ago. However, after having had a chance to sleep on it, I think that may have been a mistake. I’m seeing info that the blog can possibly be recovered if I contact you within 30 days. How would this be done? (thiscowboycantsing.wordpress.com)

    Hi there, I’ve tagged WordPress.com staff to help you with this issue, since they can reverse a site deletion provided it was deleted less than thirty days ago.

    You’ll likely receive a response within a few hours from a staff member: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

    Hope this gets resolved soon. :)

    Hi there,

    If you have mistakenly deleted your blog you can recover it within 30 days. Check your mailbox and reply to the email sent to you from help@wordpress.com when your site was deleted.

    Or you can directly contact them stating the link to your deleted blog thiscowboycantsing.wordpress.com at help@wordpress.com if you cannot find your email.

    Hope this helps. Thanks for contacting.

    @cowboycantsing Please be aware you don’t need to follow what @nafizsiddique has shared. You’re welcome to just be patient as soon as the WordPress.com team review this thread (which will be soon!), they’ll be able to reverse the site deletion for you. :)

  • Hi there,

    I’ve restored your site to your account, so you’ll be able to continue using it.

    @nafizsiddique
    , please don’t direct people already posting in the forums to contact support. Emailing us direct from an account that doesn’t own any upgrades will in fact make it take longer to get a reply than simply posting in the support forums.

    Unless you have an actual solution to someone’s problem, please don’t reply to a thread that has already been modlooked, as doing so just results in the thread moving back to the bottom of our queue, and the OP taking longer to get a reply than they would have if you hadn’t replied.

    @torres126 Really sorry, I didn’t see your reply as I was in the middle of posting mine. Was just trying to be helpful. Will be more cautious from now.

    @kokkieh
    Unless someone is a staff at Auttomatic noone really has an actual solution. Maybe you guys should consider revising your thread queue preference rather than telling me to fuck off. Since you are so sensitive about modlocked threads why don’t you restrict users from replying to them? Or maybe consider offering a more directly accessible solution to people in general.

    And, as far as I understand this is a support “forum” and if you do not kow what that word means consider using a dictionary before lecturing me.

    Why should I not direct users towards a solution? Can you tell me that my solution was wrong if not slower?

    It took support 7 hours to get back with an answer and if you are telling your email support is slower than that then that’s your issue not mine. And, you talk about speed.

    I would’ve brushed this issue had my solution been incorrect. Every admin of a deleted blog gets an instant email dedicated for this issue and to learn that, that email from help@wordpress.com is as good as junk from you is priceless. Work on your support experience instead of just bragging and shunning people off.

    Thanks for the restoral. I’ve verified that I can get to it again.

    Of course, this was totally my fault. I was so sure the other night that I even deleted the email that is sent to which you reply in these cases to reverse the deletions. Guess one should always “sleep on” such decisions first!

    Also, thanks to all above who tried to help. Your intentions were good. :)
