revert to wordpress.com
-
My problem is effectively what was posted here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-stop-site-redirect-and-continue-using-wordpresscom?replies=2I purchased a guided transfer to wordpress.org but find that I dislike the lack of compatibility with the wordpress.com reader. I’d like to stop the site redirect from my wordpress.com site to my .com, transfer my followers and page views back to the wordpress.com site, and carry along merrily.
I attempted to change the name servers, but now the site name is caught on a redirect loop. I think I’m a bit too internet-dumb to be allowed to run my own site!
The site is sarcasticmindfulness.com
Please help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think you may be selling yourself short–when I go to http://sarcasticmindfulness.com/ this is what I see:
As far as I can tell, that’s the WordPress.com version of your website.
Did you expect/hope to see something different?

Oho, so it finally got the redirect right. How do I transer my followers over to the WordPress.com site from the .con site then?
-
I know staff can help you move followers from a WordPress.com site to a self-hosted site, I’m not sure if they can move them back–but if you did the move with a guided transfer it seems like that should be possible. I’ll mark this thread for staff assistance to get you a definitive answer.

One other question–how long ago did you do the guided transfer? You might be able to e-mail the Happiness Engineer who did that work with you and have them help you directly.

It still might be worth sending an email and seeing what happens. I marked the thread here as well so one way or the other, you’ll get an answer soon. It is the weekend though so you probably won’t hear back until Monday or so.

I’ve migrated your followers back to your site hosted on WordPress.com.
Please keep in mind that while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site.
Let us know if you have any more questions :-)
