Reverting back to the intended Infinite Scroll
-
I have the infinite scroll on my blog, but at some point I inserted a second page for my posts. I’d like to change it back to the infinite scroll that it is supposed to be. How do I fix that?
Blog url: http://collapseofindustrialcivilization.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you installed an empty text widget as a workaround go here > Appearance > Widgets and remove it. Then go here > Settings > Reading and enable this:
To infinity and beyond __Scroll Infinitely
(Shows seven posts on each load)
Then click “save changes”. -
I didn’t add a widget as a work around.
Somehow I just added a second page that I want to get rid of. I want all the posts to be on one page as was intended with the infinite scroll. Right now I have the infinite scroll with it broken up into two pages. How do I fix that? -

But when I go to pages it just shows that I have only the ‘ABOUT’ page. I can’t figure out how to merge back the two post pages into one. That’s the riddle.

There is no “riddle”. There is only one page in a blog for your posts. By default it’s the front page of your blog.
Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we bloggers createare static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/ in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.
The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page
Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.
If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ and make the designation change and click “save changes”.Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can either put the categories widget into the sidebar, or you can create a custom menu and add the categories into the custom menu.

There are many common errors, misunderstanding and misconceptions when creating custom menus and you can read about them here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/

Let me rephrase. The posts are broken down into several pages of older posts. That is what I should have said. I thought I had infinite scroll with this blog, but perhaps not. If you scroll down to the bottom of the first page you’ll see the tab to go to older posts.

You have the Chateau theme on your blog. According to this list http://en.support.wordpress.com/infinite-scroll/ it is not one of the themes that has Infinite Scroll, yet.

@sensuousinkspiller
Thanks so much for the assist. I’m multitasking from work and couldn’t get back here right away. -
@timethief
I read here and am so often thinking, “Breathe, timethief, breathe…” :-) Glad I was able to help! -
