Reverting back to wordpress.com domain

Recently my domain expired and since I was paying for this out of pocket for my school team I cannot afford the high renew pricing model. However, now every time I go to the page I get your robot and can no longer use the wordpress.com domain even though your message directs my players to use that. I have tried to cancel from that page I am shown as well but your page tells me to check a box, which I did, even writing a comment but it keeps telling me to check the box that I did check. Should I just move on?
