Reverting to the original theme

    I am new to wordpress and in setting up a site I have managed to customize the background of my chosen theme Matala by mistake. I wish to return to the original theme but cannot discover how I do this? Can anyone advise please? Do I have to delete the site and start again?

    If you’re wanting to return to the theme that your site started with (Twenty Sixteen), then go here and click the Activate button: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentysixteen/

    If you’re wanting to reset the background image on the Matala theme, return to the Customizer (My Sites > Customize) and click on the Background Image tab. It should then display your background image with a “Remove” button underneath. Click that button to go back to the original image that came with the theme. When I tried it on a test site, the background didn’t update at first while in the Customizer. I had to exit out to see that the original image was back.

    If you run into other issues, don’t delete your site as a way to try and fix them because deleted sites become unavailable for two years.
