Revision Option on WordPress, incredibly difficult to understand…?

  • Unknown's avatar

Finally, after years, I have some funds for paid support…

However, “repeatedly” I am running into problems, and even with assistance these are far too complicated to resolve.

Take revisions, I had to have someone walk me through to find this function, but then once there, I have to be honest…

“What on earth was I looking at?”

    Just gobbledegook and coding?

Why does this have to be so complicated, why can’t we see the Revisions… as we’d wish to see these, as they would appear on screen as text, ‘without’ requiring a degree in coding?

People really should be able to just look at a good interface and be able to resolve a problem without experience and coding knowledge?

I mean ‘even’ with this form, it uses coding, which we see when typing!

I don’t know “any” other site, which does this… so it just appears as if WP is very much behind the times?

Also, why is chat so unfriendly, and I don’t refer to the staff, they seem quite amiable but the interface?

Other ‘chats’ I use with other companies… these give the person you’re speaking to name, so you know who to refer back to in the future, and it is just friendlier!

Chats elsewhere, let you know when someone is typing with the word itself or change in colour or moving dots?

WP has nothing, which to same it has been around so long, it again does appear to be behind the times.

We don’t know whether someone is there or not, or if the system has crashed or they have left the conversation, as things stand?

I just don’t feel WP, and I felt this for “years” that the developers are listening to people, as I cannot really comprehend otherwise, why these changes have not been made earlier?

I really wished to do important work with WP, but I have “years” worth of issues, and I have to say ‘if’ I knew back then, WP was going to be this hard to use… I’d have looked for another provider.

Please can you take on this feedback in the spirit this is intended in, and make these changes for the benefit of all concerned???

Oh, just one more thing, can you please take feedback from members and users in the future when making developments?

I sent this suggestion in an email before: However why not send people a mock interface out, and then they can move the functions around, making their own design and WP developers could use this as feedback for future developments?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Also I would wish to add please:

And “why” on earth, when you… and “every” other website I see does this, however why is it when you press italics, it does not show as depressed, so you don’t know whether this actually on or not?

    Just very poor WordPress!

Again, WordPress tells us that they wish the best platform we can have to express our ideas and thoughts, and make a valued contribution to the world, but this is hard to see when such simple issues as italics button not even reflecting whether they are on or off… this certainly does not reflect this supposed good intent?
