Revisions
-
I am looking at a screen titled, ‘Compare Revisions of [blog post name].’ It offers the revision I don’t want on the left side, and the revision that I do want on the right side. But the ‘Restore This Revision’ button is greyed out, and anything I click seems to lead to neither of these two most recent revisions, both of which are quite long. At present, WordPress seems to be assuming that, instead, I want a version last saved hours ago, which means losing almost all my work.
The side-by-side revision comparison page is not even structured in columns, which would at least allow me to copy and save the desired code. Attempts to copy that code from the right column also copy the stuff in the left-hand column, producing gibberish.
It is really puzzling why the two columns on the revision comparison page are titled ‘Removed’ and ‘Added,’ when the Added (supposedly representing the latest revision) is not what I get when I view the current state of the post in another browser.
Why can’t there just be a button that says, ‘Choose this revision’?

Hi there,
Can you tell us the URL of the site, and the title/URL of the specific post you’re speaking of?

Thanks for responding so quickly. I found a solution. I’d describe it if I remembered exactly how I did it. I guess I got lucky.

@raywoodcock glad you’ve got it! You’re welcome to share here if you’d like, but no stress either way.
To anyone wondering, here’s the official WordPress.org doc on revisions, for what that’s worth:
https://wordpress.org/support/article/revisions/And here’s ours:
