Revisions not restoring on WordPress 5.2.2

Hi,
I updated my wordpress version to 5.2.2 yesterday. thereafter the post i wrote and published is not showing up fully on the editor. The live website showed the post correctly with about 14-15 paragraphs, 11 images. but the editor shows the post with only 3 paragraphs, no images. in revisions, it shows the correct version. Yet, i tried ‘restore this revision’ multiple times, but no effect. it just does not get restored.
I have emptied browser cache. i tried on another browser. i deactivated each plugin and then reactivated. No effect.
I tried checking if it was a theme issue but cannot find any issues with that.
