Reviving an Old Blog with New URL
-
I’m trying to restore a blog and I have a saved backup of it. I used to be daisiesandbruises.com. When my hosting expired my blog changes to daisiesandbruises.wordpress.com. So that’s all fine, but my domain name was bought out in the interm. I want to use my backup of daisiesandbruises.com and move it my new address of daisiesandbruises.ca. I’m not sure where to start if anyone can point me in the right direction. Thank you!

Hi there,
According to our records you did start out here on WordPress.com and we have records of your most recent renewal with us here, which is from three years ago (2018) and then no activity since then. You can confirm here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing
It seems that sometime between 2018 and 2019 you transferred your domain to another hosting provider and moved your site off of WordPress.com. We do retain your old site since you left, which is what you see here: https://daisiesandbruises.wordpress.com/
However, when you move your site to a different provider, we are no longer able to store backups of the site (your new provider will instead have their own internal backup system) so we do not have any data that is more recent than you see there.
Have you contacted your hosting provider directly to see if they still retain a backup of your site on their end? We would not be able to help further I’m afraid, so I am hoping they can assist you in this matter.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
