rewrite "category" SEO

  Hi,
  I would like to rewrite “category” for “house-to-sell” could you please help if this is possible? couldn’t find a way out.

  Hi there,

  You can edit your Categories from the WP Admin dashboard. To access the dashboard just add /wp-admin to the end of your site’s url.

  Then go to Posts > Categories. If you hover on the different Categories it will give you the option to edit them.

  Hi @sylviebazard!

  Do you mean you want to change the appearance in the address of the page?

  So
  https://immoavendre.wordpress.com/category/avignon/

  would become
  https://immoavendre.wordpress.com/house-to-sell/avignon/

  That sort of change (called changing the category base) isn’t possible on your current setup.

  Some other options might be to use pages, if you created a “House To Sell” page. Then created an “Avignon” child page, you could use the display posts shortcode on Avignon to show posts in that category.

  To create a childpage, you can select a parent page under the Page Attributes section of the editor.

  The other option would be to consider setting up a self hosted WordPress site, where changing the category base is possible.

  Self hosting your site is a bit different from running it here on WordPress.com.

  Oh, @taniametalli – you don’t actually have to go into WP Admin for category management any longer :)

  If you open My Site > Settings > Writing, you’ll see your categories and tags there so you can add, edit, delete, or set the default :)
