  The Eight theme is something I would dearly love to use, but that it makes no allowance for a header image.
  Two questions:
  (1) Would it be possible to get one in there ?
  (2)
  Oh. You can forget question no. 2: I’ve just ascertained through previewing it that it already provides archives in excerpts !!! Yaaaaaaayy !
  So it all comes down to the ability to play with the code to get a nice big header in there …
  It’s a class theme, this one: and I’ve had complaints about Newsy’s not being responsive. About which I had forgotten.
  Sighh …

  Custom Header and Background

  Suggested width is 1200 pixels. Suggested height is 600 pixels.

  The background can also be customized by going to Appearance → Background.

  Oops! I never knew there was an Eight theme https://wordpress.com/themes/eight and I had just been playing with the Eighties theme in my test blog when I saw your thread. Sorry. :(

  Rich, I’ve decided that I’ll go with the size of header the theme allows. So you’re released from that request.

  I put in a request to Premium Support re the impossibility of removing a stupid thing called “Recent Comments” – meaning I CAN’T ! – in the faint hope of a reply this-evening.
  If they don’t respond, it’ll be OTR …

  Having just discovered that the “Recent Comments” can be removed via CSS ( ! ), I have done so.
  [M-R brushes off hands, smugly]
  Next thing, please, Rich mon ami: can we make both content and sidebar columns wider ? Please ?
