  If this were to be done, would it stuff up the theme in terms of its responsiveness, please …?
  That content width is really VERY narrow …

  Howdy, you can use the following to widen things out to the width of your header image (1100px).

  .has-active-sidebar .site {
      width: 1100px;
  }

  Let’s start there and see what you think.
