Right click and download images

I have been able to have a code on my weebly website to stop the right click and download of images. This is not the case with wordpress. I have copyrighted most of my images with a watermark, plu sa statement, this did not stop another website for accesing my image and using. Incidentally it was used from my wordpress blog. the site is called quoteko, and it credits me, i haven’t given them any authorization. I found this using google reverse image add-on to my Firefox browser. So to help stop some thieving and the right clickers etc we need to be protected, and wordpress have not given us users anything to help. I look forward to any responses.

Hi Angie, you can deter people from stealing images with watermarks and legal statements as you mentioned, but as far as I know there’s no sure-fire way to prevent it, from a technological point of view.
Even if you could disable right-clicking, it’s very easy to get around — a simple screen grab using image software is all that’s required.
According to “timethief” on the following string, there is a WordPress theme available (“Duotone”) where right clicking is disabled. This would at least deter casual image theft:

As jamesriddett says, the no-right-click script is not protecting you. Looking at your website, I would additionally include a short copyright notice on each post pointing viewers to your full copyright statement.
Of course, this isn’t to say you don’t have recourse when someone uses your content without permission.

also don’t put high quality images on your site – a friend that is a Pro Photographer does not put hi rez, pictures on his site, some of the images are watermarked – his standing joke is that someone can make a postcard for the refrigerator before the rez. break down – any larger people need to talk with him
