Right navigation drops to bottom of blog page

    Hi there

I have a problem with my blog layout at http://leefriendweb.wordpress.com

I’ve code that goes over to the right hand of the screen which drops my navigation down to the bottom (in Internet Explorer).

Any ideas how to stop this? is there a tag?

    Regards

    G’morning
I see what you are referring to but there is nothing you can do within this theme with code to change the situation. Some themes have larger blogging spaces than others do and whenever size limitations are exceeded in most themes the sidebar will drop to the bottom. The maximum size for each theme has been determined in the context of images so changing themes to one with a larger blogging space allowance may be your answer. The thread below records those size limitations and the themes with the largest spaces are Shocking Blue Green .. 800px, Silver is the new Black .. 800px and WordPress Classic .. 800px

How big can my images be?

    Okay thanks.

Is there a tag I can use in my writing to justify the text so that it doesn’t do that?

This is what I found in the forum search box http://wordpress.com/forums/search.php?q=justify+text
This is a link to theme reviews that make the features of each a “known” quantity/quality http://engtech.wordpress.com/tools/wordpress/wordpress-theme-reviews/

    Text rich editor icons http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/
There are 3 icons at the top of your editing box: align left; align centre; align right.

Or you can do it manually by following these instructions <div align=’justify’>Some text about whatever</div>.

What I know about this subject of justifying text would be lonely on the head of a pin. This is what I made note of. Web designers who want their page layout to closely resemble print layout often ‘justify’ their text so that each line of text will be equal length. Use justify carefully though, or you could have some unexpected browser display problems. As a general rule, never justify paragraphs that take less than two complete lines to display. Otherwise, you could get really unusual word spacing and/or duplicate words. If you’re including the align attribute inside each of your paragraph tags, it’s pretty easy to judge when justify isn’t needed.
I hope that helps but if it doesn’t then hopefully a blogger with technical skills will jump in and assist you.

A techy type/designer has responded to me and suggested I add one more thing which is: themes that don’t protect against the dropping sidebar should be reported via feedback. :)

Gotta admit that I would rather see the sidebar drop. That tells me that there’s an issue with my layout. (ie a picture is too wide, I’m missing a tag, etc.)
