    How do I open the right side bar, under the bell in voiceover

    Jetpack: No

    Hi there,

    I’m not sure I’ve understood your question. Can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing and the URL of the page you are on when trying to access your sidebar? This is when you are trying to edit a page or post on your site, or when you are on some other page?

    The app is opened via a bookmark to the blog page, it could be the home page it matters not. The notification bell in non Voiceover mode opens the side bar of notifications. You must open the bookmark with VO for it to read and control actions. VO is then moved and can read side bar. My wife who is totally blind can on one ipad open the side bar and VO would read the bar. She had two other ipads on ios 14.8 but their ability to do this suddenly disappeared. Non of ipads on ios 17 can open the sidebar but do announce its presence. VO does not function correctly when bookmark opened manually

    simply use the icon ar top right of screen Send to select option Add To Home Screen close page and then open via bookmark added to screen

    This is not possible for a blind person or a non technical person such as myself to do.

    Do not send massages under the notifications again it is very frightening to a blind person. Use ONLY EMAIL. This is a warning to desist from this practice

    it appears from your question that you do understand the Voiceover app and its use . VoiceOver is not Visual in its actions but is audible and uses operator action swipe and clicks neither of which are seen In screenshots. It would seem that you are looking for something which can only be viewed in person

    Thank you for clarifying. The notifications system is built in to WordPress.com so it’s not possible to deactivate it on a per-account basis. However, perhaps I can help with your ability in accessing the notifications menu.

    I have used VoiceOver for site navigation on my Mac, but I have not used it on an iOS device. To be sure that I’ve understood, the issue you are having is specific to your iPad running iOS 17.x, yes? You can access notifications on desktop without issue? I want to confirm that this option does exist as a workaround for now, thanks.

    Can you clarify if you are using VoiceOver on the Jetpack App (or possibly the WordPress App) or if your issue is when visiting WordPress.com and accessing your account via the mobile browser on your tablet? If so, are you using Safari as your browser or something else instead?
