Right to be Forgotten
-
I can’t contact the person who ran a wordpress blog because it hasn’t been active for years, and the email address isn’t even valid. In compliance with the right to be forgotten, I need two pages about me deleted. How can I do this? Even the WordPress Facebook page isn’t responding, and I have no other contact information. Please, It’s urgent. Thanks

Hi there, is the site hosted here on WordPress.com, the hosting provider? https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/#are-wordpress-org-and-wordpress-com-the-same-thing
If you are not sure where that site is hosted, you can enter the site address in our Site Profiler https://wordpress.com/site-profiler

Hi, thanks for replying. Yes, it’s hosted here on wordpress.com, but I don’t know who to contact or how to get the pages removed. WordPress doesn’t have an email address. What could I do?

Hi @violanagis,
If you’re unable to verify ownership of the WordPress.com account connected to the site, access cannot be granted. We have a strict policy in place to protect our users from third parties who might attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts.
If ownership cannot be established, we can assist by setting the site to private. You can read more about this process here:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#if-ownership-cannot-be-establishedCould you please provide the exact site address (URL) where the pages you’d like to have removed are located?
Once you share the site address, we’ll review it and help you proceed with setting the site to private.
Looking forward to your reply so we can assist you further.

Hi @adusman402
The site is: doppiostandard.wordpress.com
The pages I wish to remove are:
https://doppiostandard.wordpress.com/2017/04/18/una-chiacchierata-con-viola-nagis/
https://doppiostandard.wordpress.com/2017/04/18/una-chiacchierata-con-viola-nagis-2/

I’m not the owner of this blog but I wish these pages to be removed in compliance of the right to be forgotten.
Thanks for your help.

Hello @adusman402
Could you give me some feedback on what we discussed? Could you please remove, hide, or make private the pages I mentioned? It’s very important.
Thanks a lot.

Hello @adusman402 and @staff-porcupine,
It’s been a long time, and I don’t want to bother you, but I’d like an update on my issue. As I was saying, it’s crucial for me to resolve and close this issue. So, please, please, help me.
Thanks a lot

You must be aware “The right to be forgotten” legally does not include the removal of the original website or webpage. Instead, it requires search engines to remove links from search results when someone searches for their name, if the information is irrelevant, outdated, or inaccurate. The original website remains online, but it becomes harder to find through search engines.
Also note wordpress.com won’t and legally cannot just delete a site or webpages running on the wordpress.com platform.
It’s better to submit a request to search engines like Google to have links removed from search results that appear for searches of their name, according to the rules of the GDPR.
