  I’m wanting to publish a short story that I’ve recently posted on my blog. Does WordPress own what I post once I post it? I mean, if the another company publishes something I’ve posted here will that cause any problems?

  You own what you write so no, there wouldn’t be a problem. :)

  You give WP.com the right to publish your post (ie post it on the internet) but you don’t give them any exclusivity. In fact, if you get a book deal for a WordPress.com blog, they’d love to hear about it and publicize it.
