Robot.txt Message

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I am getting the robot.txt message and my site is marked Public. I am also getting a link of ‘Visit Website’ that I would like to edit and I would like it to mention my photography somewhere. Can you please check to ensure this site is set up correctly?

    Thank you!
    Jess

Google picked up my site post but I am still getting the visit website as a clickable link to my website. I would like to change this to Adventure and travel photography. Please let me know.

Actually, I am still getting the robot.txt message when I search for jessblake.com in google. Any ideas here?

I am getting the robot.txt message and my site is marked Public.

I checked http://jessblake.com/ just now and it is marked as private again. To change that, go to Settings > General, look for the “Site Visibility” setting, select “Allow search engines,” and then click the Save Changes button.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I just marked it private this morning when it wasn’t working. It’s public now.

    Thanks!

Great! Google takes time to re-index. Sometimes it’s very fast at picking up changes and sometimes it isn’t. Now that you’ve fixed the setting, search engines should be able to re-crawl your site at their own pace. I would recommend leaving it public from this point and not changing the setting too much unless you really need to.
