Rogue page help

I asked the question to support with no response. Certainly not slamming support as I know they remain busy, but I have some press reviewing my site today or tomorrow and I need a page removed.

    site: http://run50miles.org

I tried the Google Webmaster Central hack, creating a page with Google verification filename, but noticed the file name ends up listed in my pages widget with no way to remove it …thus, I deleted the page from the ‘pages’ tab in WP Admin

Problem is, the page will not go away from the public display of the site.

Please advise if you know any secrets. I have combed the forum and have seen messages about caching – but it’s been awhile and the page name is still showing live with no page to link to.

Since you haven’t got a lot of pages, maybe try removing the Pages widget and using a text widget named “Pages” with only the links you want?

Take the Pages widget out first and make sure it goes away.

I fixed the issue. Deleting at the ‘manage’ level was not working, but once I created a duplicate page with the same name and deleted from the ‘edit’ link in the dashboard, it worked.

FWIW, the duplicate-page-then-deletion trick DOES NOT work at the manage page level …only through Dashboard:Edit
