Rookie needs help

  Hello you guys,

  I’m totall new to WordPress and it seems to be a little more complicated than I thought it would be…

  So first I registered with the free version, later on I added a custom website and made that the primary domain.

  Now I want to get rid of that free ‘lionellodotbe.wordpress.com’-adress, but apparently I will lose the premium upgrade if I do that?

  Next problem is the custom e-mail, I paid for a custom e-mail using Google Apps, but now I can’t seem to find it anywhere…

  Hope you guys can help me out?

  Hi there Lionello,

  I’ll be happy to help out.

  So first off, let me assure you that whenever anyone visits your site, they will only ever see lionello.be. The only person who will see the lionellodotbe.wordpress.com part is you, and even that will only be when you log in to write a new post or upload some media. Even so, if you’d like to change the blog name (the “lionellodotbe” part) then you can, just know that you can’t get the old one back ever. It will be gone. I’m sure you don’t care that much, but I just wanted to let you know.

  Regarding your Google Email, were you able to create a user? I have made sure that your domain is set up correctly in order to use Google Apps (their email plus all of their other add-on features), but you’ll still need to make sure you set up a user, etc. Let me know!

  Hi amightywp!

  Thank you so much for your time and effort!
  Up untill now I’m doing pretty good with ly blog/website (I think).
  Step by step, I’m starting to find my way with WP.

  Right now I’m creating pages and I’m seting up my menu with some child pages.

  I was wondering if there’s a possibility to create dropdownmenu’s with the Gridspace theme?
  I’d like to have my child pages in a dropdown menu and don’t know how to start off with that.

  Also, is it possible to make a horizontal menu, instead of the vertical one I have now on the left side of my screen.

  Looks like you were able to add submenus to your menu (screenshot)

  Also, is it possible to make a horizontal menu, instead of the vertical one I have now on the left side of my screen.

  The Gridspace theme does have a horizontal menu in another location. (Example)

  To set that up, you’ll need to:

  1. Visit your custom menu settings
  2. Create a new menu
  3. After saving the new menu, choose the Manage Locations tab
  4. Set the newmenu to the “Top Menu” Location
