rotating images

Hellp!
I select my images on iPhoto quite OK. But if they are portrait rather than landscape, they come out sideways on my blog.
I’ve tried rotating them in iPhoto to see if being a different way round would eventually sort itself out. No it doesn’t.
I tried editing in Safari, Firefox and IE to see if WordPress would let me sort it out (you don’t get much option and flexibility in Safari). No, it wouldn’t.
Others have tried clicking them but no, that didn’t work.
Someone suggested Picasa but that’s the dreaded Google and doesn’t seem to be for Apple Macs. Also, why download that when you have iPhoto?
So … am I missing a step in this or what … ? -
Are these the instructions that you are using? http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/16/how-do-i-upload-pictures/

iPhoto typically creates two folders for pictures. One will be “originals” and one will be “modified”. If you edit a picture (say rotate it) then the rotated version will be placed in the “modified” folder and the original pic will be left, unmodified, in the “originals” folder. Make sure you are uploading out of the “modified” folder for any pics you have rotated.

sacredpath – disappointingly, I tried that as it seemed a fairly logical solution … nah, still sideways!
timethief – yeah – checked that, done that – still sideways. -
If i am uploading a photo from my iPhoto library, i usually use the export function under the Share menu. Then just export it as a file to my desktop (i don’t mean use it as my desktop background) and use that file as the one to be uploaded.
Most of the time, though, i just upload everything to Flickr (part of dreaded Yahoo, but has an iPhoto-friendly uploader).

thank you, judyb!
I found ‘export’ under File in my iPhoto not Share but still … exported as jpg and thumbnail to the desktop – and it worked, albeit a different size!!
Thanks again -
good! Sorry, i wasn’t looking at iPhoto when writing the instructions. Glad you figured it out :)
