Rowling theme – different colors in different browsers

  Hi,
  I’m using the Rowling theme, and I just found out from friends that some of them are seeing a gray background behind the categories list when it should be white. I have a free account, so no access to CSS files. I was wondering if there is a way to control the background color via the other admin console features?

  Hi @khrome,

  You can change the colors for your site by going to My Site -> Customize (next to Themes) -> Colors and Backgrounds, and then choosing from the 6 palettes that are available for free there.

  From what I see when testing the Rowling theme on my site, all six palettes feature a light grey sidebar at the right, where your categories/tags are shown. If you want an all-white site, I would recommend choosing a different theme, or upgrading so you have access to Custom Colors or Custom CSS.

  Hi @jennysihua,
  I am currently using one of those palettes. The preview of the Rowling theme shows that column as being white. That’s all I’m trying to achieve, consistently, among all browsers:

  It seems to me that if it’s suppose to be white, I shouldn’t have to upgrade just to make it white, right? :-)

  Hi there! Are you referring to the category widget in the right sidebar?

  The background there is indeed grey, and it’s also grey in the screenshot you provided. Could you please clarify whether I’m looking at the right portion of your page? Thanks!

  p.s. it is a light grey, so if I am looking at the right spot, it’s possible your device or monitor aren’t quite calibrated right or don’t have the range to display the grey as intended. Have you tried viewing your site on another device or screen?

  I just looked at it on another monitor and I do see that it is gray! How embarrassing… lol Time for me to get a new monitor – I can’t believe how off this one is.
