  Is it possible to put an RSS button (such that anyone who wants to read my drivel can link it to their RSS reader) on my TwentyTwelve theme, or is it only available on certain themes?

  And if it is possible, how do I do it?

  Just use the Meta widget; it’s built in. Or you can use the RSS widget.

  You can just copy it from anywhere and put it in a text widget, linked to your feed. It’s an open source free to use image.
