RSS Cache
-
I logged a call on the 24/2/12 but have still not received a reply. I need to clear the cache of my WordPress RSS feed as it populates a web site. Please can you tell me how to do this, or do it for me?
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I’m able to see your feed just fine at:
http://thefortrusblog.com/feed/Could you give me a few more details about what you’re trying to accomplish?
-
Hi, and thanks for your reply.
The feed works fine, but if I delete a Blog article from WordPress, it doesn’t delete from the RSS feed as it remains in the cache.
The problem is, if I want to delete a Blog article, it will only delete in WordPress. Anybody taking an RSS feed will still see it.
Can you help?
-
The article is actually removed from the feed, but we have no control over third-party feed readers, so you’ll need to contact whomever is in charge of that to clear out the cache.

Thanks for your reply macmanx. But the problem is not with the 3rd party feed reader, it happens before then. The cache is with WordPress I think….
If you put /feed at the end of the wordpress blog address it gives you a feed, this is explained in the wordpress documentation: http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Feeds
If you look at my wordpress feed by putting /feed at the end of my blog address you will see an old story I blogged called; ‘The Basildon Story’. This story has been deleted from my Blog of over a month but still appears?
Does this make sense? Your help is much appreciated.

Hi there,
I’m not able to see “The Basildon Story” in your feed. Just to be clear, you’re referring to the following feed correct?
http://thefortrusblog.com/feed/
How exactly are you viewing the feed? Are you using a feed reader, or a web client?
If you’re viewing it from a browser, you might try clearing your browser’s cache:

Hi,
Thanks for everyone’s help. The article is no longer there. I don’t know what fixed it, but it’s gone! I think it may be because I added another story, but I don’t know.
Thanks again.
