RSS doesn't update?

    Hi,

    I’ve been having issues with the RSS feed on my blog for a while; it doesn’t seem to send out new posts automatically.

    I contacted WordPress about this a while ago but eventually decided it was something to do with using my work Outlook as my feed-reader / firewall issues, however I’m now pretty convinced this is not the case.
    When I create a new post, it does not send out a feed. If I then go to my blog and click the RSS button, the new post will not appear there until I refresh the page. Once reloaded, the entry will appear and the feed email will come through to my inbox fairly promptly.
    But for some reason, it doesn’t do this automatically; I have to go and manually refresh the feed page every time I post or else the feed just doesn’t update.

    Is this a WordPress bug or something specific to my blog? I post from Safari, IE and via email; it doesn’t appear to make any difference which program I use.

    Any thoughts on how to fix this please? Hopefully its just a simple setting I’ve not noticed…?!

    The latest is dated March 31, 2011
    The RSS feeds update when we refresh the pages and that’s normal behavior as the data is cached.

    I know that is the URL for my RSS, what I’m saying is that the feed doesn’t update unless I manually go to that URL and hit update.
    If I publish a new post in on my blog, it will not send out a new feed item (I’m sorry if I don’t know the correct terminology here) until I go to that page and hit refresh.

    So for example, I just wrote a post, published it and went off and did something else; no one who follows my blog by RSS would get the new post sent out to them.
    It would be visible if they visited the blog page but they would not get any RSS update.
    That can’t be normal…?

    I know the data is cached and there is a time delay in display. I know that when I refresh I get a new display. Beyond that I cannot help you, so if you don’t think your blog feed is performing correctly, and no other Volunteer has help to offer then please report this to Staff. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
