RSS Feed

I have had an awful time with this. If there is a fix for this I would appreciate it because the error messages is annoying.

It is very frustrating as a user to do a search and find many threads here that fall under this topic only to find them closed with no resolution. I am using WordPress under the wordpress.com and having them host it. The few posts that mention using the permalinks plugin are not available to me. If it is, it is never said where this item is located in my dashboard.

BUT for those of you who are having ulcers about this, your worries may be exaggerated. Amazon comes up with this validator for your rss feed link. http://validator.w3.org/feed/

It told me that my page was faulty,

    1. the title was blank. (It really should be no problem)
    2. It says this link is invalid.

both of which I do not see where I have any control over them on the .com site through my dashboard. (There was no help confirming or disproving this conclusion) If anyone knows how I can fix this I would appreciate it, but it may not be necessary.

Amazon showed me my feed when I first set it up and it worked fine for about a week. Then it came back with an error. On the authors page it comes back as code and not the readable feed that a customer would like to see. This probably is not a true indication of what is going on. I also had a problem seeing the RSS feed in Safari and Opera.

You can check what the customer sees by logging out, then going to your book and clicking on your author name. You will most likely see your RSS feeds working fine on the right.

Also, I downloaded several readers and none had a problem reading my RSS feed. I believe Safari and Opera need a plugin to read RSS feeds, that’s why they were not working.

The moral of the story. Don’t go crazy because a validator says your RSS Feed is bad. Check out some RSS readers and sites that read RSS to be sure it is a valid concern. I hope many of you are experiencing something similar, because from what I see here there is no real fix for this.
