can this hideous orange color be changed or no? thanks :)

I think there’s a whole list of them in the FAQ. If not, you can always download it, change the colour in some program, and upload that to use. The automatic RSS widget has the orange one because that’s the industry standard, like a red cross meaning first aid. Mauve can be nice, but it’s not what you need when you’re in a hurry. It’s generally felt to be more eye-catching and since RSS was invented by techies for techies aesthetic concerns don’t come into it. If Steve Jobs were in the RSS business, they would, but he’s not.

Well yes and no. There is a site that has the standard RSS icons in a multitude of colors. Withh the CSS upgrade you could use any of them.

Aside: Regarding visibility FWIW I look for orange rss icons and when rss icons are so subtly shaded as to blend into blog colour schemes I easily overlook them :)

hehe..shame on me for not checking faq section first..it seemed such a nit picky thing that i never imagined it’d get covered in there.

hrm…good point on the visibility..i just find the color so ugly :p perhaps I will use a large size one in the blue instead. -trots away to play with css-

thanks everyone for tips…one of my fave things here is that tips don’t just answer the question but also give input on the action itself and its consequences
