rss feed not updating
-
I’ve noticed that if you follow my blog via blogger/google+, it shows my latest post as last week, 4 posts behind what I’ve actually published. This is for all subscribers.
I can see that other WordPress blogs followed this way are updated as normal and after my latest published post.
So I was wondering if this was a WP problem or a Blogspot problem?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Pia – I’m not familiar with following blogs via Google+, but your feed shows your most recent posts:
http://colourcottage.wordpress.com/feed/It only shows the first line, though, because you have your setting set up to just show a summary in a feed:
https://colourcottage.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.phpDoes this answer your question? If not, could you make a screenshot of what you’re looking at in Blogger/Google+? Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload it to your blog’s Media Library and I can look at it there.

I have made a screenshot from a blogspot blogroll this morning (it’s a rather tall jpg I’m afraid) http://colourcottage.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/feed.jpg
It works so that every time I post, my blog should go to the top. You can see at the top is a post from another wordpress blog posted yesterday, so it’s not because Blogspot is blocking WP in general all of a sudden, (which would surprise me less). Just me. You can find one of my old posts way down at the bottom circled in red also.

I’m currently trying to understand the error message here:
http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fcolourcottage.wordpress.com
Is it something in my menu?
-
Hi Pia – I’m not sure how to troubleshoot how Blogger is reading the feed. I can only tell you that your feed itself is correct. You can look at it directly here to make sure that your most recent post is always indexed:
http://colourcottage.wordpress.com/feed/For example, at the top there now is “More poems and spin progress.” To double-check, I subscribed to your Feed in Feedly (a free RSS reader) and all your posts appear properly. So this must be something on Blogger’s end, as to how it’s reading the feed.
-
Thanks for checking anyway. I suspected as much, I just wanted to make sure since I could see other wordpress blogs update just fine every day, so it’s not Blogspot shutting out WP completely, just me!
It appeared to be fixed on Friday, but now it’s the same issue, others “stepping in front” of me even though I’ve posted before them. But I can’t see myself how I could possibly have some sort of wrong code preventing the updates.
-
I’ve been informed that my blog, and only mine, not all from WP, will update itself once in the user’s blogroll if they delete me and add me again. And then it stops updating again.

Hi Pia – I would recommend that blogger check with Blogger support about that, in that case. I can’t really look into it since it’s Blogger’s RSS widget. Double-check that the blogger is using your correct feed link:

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

@autowindscreens – @captnmike is correct about where you should seek support, but also RSS feeds only contain posts, not pages.

Ah, I see. In that case, then you should ask for support in the WordPress.org forums:
