RSS feed not working

The feed from my blog is not working. I’ve made three new posts since the last one that appeared in the feed. How do I troubleshoot this? This is just the built in feed functionality.

The feed is valid and operational http://travel.mostlyguessing.com/feed/ I take it you are using Chrome and have failed to install the required add-on as there is no built in feeedreader in Chrome. P.S. I did a closer check and I’m tagging this thread for Staff assistance because the most recent date on a post in that feed is Goodbye JapanWednesday, July 25, 2012 4:00 PM

I should clarify that I’m using Feedly to read the feed, not any plugin.
Also, that date is intentional, since what I’m doing is to date the post for when it actually happened as opposed to when I posted it.
Hmm, now that I think about that, I realize that that is probably what’s causing my problem. The Goodbye Japan post is the one I made most recently, but I dated it as older than the one that’s dated most recently (which is the entry called Tailor Made).
Is that how feeds work? That if I publish something dated older than the newest, it won’t show up as unread in a feed reader?

It’s odd, because even though I can clearly see the Goodbye Japan-post in the feed, Feedly won’t show it. Feedly is also hanging on to older versions of posts that I have since updated. Maybe I need to take this up with them instead..?

Hello fylke,
Feed readers will look for items from today’s date forward. This means that setting the post date causes the reader to ignore it. This prevents the reader from having to constantly go back and check for new post that were dated in the past.
When new users add your feed they will see all post ordered by date. If you publish a post with the current date and are still having problems let us know.
