RSS Feed not working
-
Hi all!
I added a new domain and switched my blog to it. When a friend subscribed for me, she never did get any feeds though I blogged twice after that. Because I didn’t want to mess around with it at that point, I just switched my blog back to the my original blog name http://marineswife.wordpess.com
Now my feed isn’t working there either. I’ve gone through all the settings. I do not have my blog set to private. I’ve subscribed to it myself through Bloglines and nothing.
On Bloglines the little exclamation point comes up which means that Bloglines is saying it isn’t working.

Hi,
The problem probably isn’t related to your domain. Either URL will redirect to the one you’ve selected as your main blog domain.
Feed Validator says your content contains some invalid characters. Probably you’ve copy-pasted some text from a web page or Word document that’s written in a different character set. It’s not just a problem in your feed – most modern web browsers will show those characters as a little box or question mark:
I don’t know whether or not that is the problem that is interfering with Bloglines but fixing it would be a good start. Just edit the posts and delete or change those characters.

Yeah there is the typo but I assume that was just in the forum post. Worth confirming tho – marineswife, make sure the URL you are using has “wordpress.com” and not “wordpess.com”.

Yes, sorry, I just type too fast and am always leaving out letters. LOL
I have the feed coming in but it just says error but bloglines doesn’t know what the error is.
Looking at the invalid character thing now. Thanks

Okay. I deleted all the invalid characters…I don’t even know what they were!
Every so often my blog will add in the A with the little thingie above it.. ? I don’t add it! They just randomly appear throughout an old post and I’ll have to go in and edit and get rid of them.

Okay. :) I fixed all the blogs that had that in it. It’s just been the ones in the last couple days…since I had moved my blog to the new domain name…and then back. So when I moved it something happened. ?? Who knows.
Now I’m hesitant to put it back again. LOL But thank you again and thank you for the validator site!

It’s most likely your web browser or blog client (if you use one). Make sure it’s set to use utf-8 and not latin-1 if you know how.
