RSS feed – post not sent out?

  • Unknown's avatar

Up until now, all of my posts went out quickly and without complications (my site is http://sweetjumbles.com/). The last one, however, was never sent out. I subscribe to my own feed to monitor this. (Unrelated, but I should mention that the “subscribe via email” DID go out.) I did re-subscribe today and with the new subscription the most recent post did show up. But I’m dissapointed and concerned that everyone else out there didn’t get my last post and who knows if the future posts will be disseminated.
Has this happened before? Kink in the system? Kink in my page?
    Advice welcome.

Your latest post on your blog shows up on the feed coming out of wordpress, http://sweetjumbles.com/feed/ .

Are you using a different feed service such as Google reader, etc.?

The RSS is above my pay grade – however your recipes look incredible and way to much fun to eat.

thesacredpath, yes I am using the wordpress feed service – nothing fancy. Like I said, when I re-subscribed to the feed the new subscription folder did include the most recent post. Hopefully it was a one-time fluke since you don’t see anything inherently wrong with it. Next week when I make my next post will be my real answer I guess.

    auxclass, thanks so much!

It can at times take a little bit of time for feeds to update depending on server loads, time of day, etc.

Was the post scheduled, by any chance? Sometimes there’s a bug where scheduled posts don’t go out on the RSS feed, nor appear in the tag pages until they’ve been edited.

It happened again. My 10/17 post never came through on the feed (and today is 10/20 so it’s fair to say it’s not delayed), and another post from last night has also not transmitted. Both show up in the feed version of the blog site. Both came through when I resubscribed to the feed with a new folder name. Neither show up in my original feed folder which, until now, had been great.

Nobody else has experienced this? I hope perhaps there’s a kink in my feed folder, meaning my subscribers are not also experiencing this. Possible? Any way to check? Because I don’t know who subscribes I obviously can’t tell them what’s going on.

PS. No, the post was not scheduled to go live later, it was immediate.

I hope this is an appropriate place to raise a question on RSS:

The RSS feed on my blog http://chronicsorethroat.wordpress.com/ has suddenly stopped working.

When I go to the URL http://chronicsorethroat.wordpress.com/feed/, all I get is the initial blog entry itself, but none of the comments for that blog entry. (Note: unusually, I have only a single entry on my blog – all my blog activity is in the comments attached to this single entry).

There are are currently 1,806 comments linked to that blog entry; perhaps this high number has caused RRS system to flounder?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The comments feed is a different feed. Have you subscribed to that?

    Thanks, raincoaster.

Subscribing to my actual blog entry post, namely

    http://chronicsorethroat.wordpress.com/2007/05/27/chronic-sore-throat/feed/

does seem to bring up at least the last two days worth of comments.

But I had the impression that previously, both the blog entry and its comments would appear in the feed; perhaps I am mistaken

    Thanks for your tip.

Is it possible that the problem is there’s a kink in my feed folder, meaning my subscribers are not also experiencing this. The folder does show “last updated” as today, so it’s not that it’s turned off or not updating.
