RSS feed… problems

Me again… with my oh-so great Blix template blog.
I am trying to add the RSS feed to my sidebar.I have followed the instructions found in the FAQs,
but nothing seems to appear on my blog.My question is… is this another quirk of the Blix template?
If not, what am I doing wrong???Thanks for al your help.

Well, I’m using Blix as well, so I don’t think it’s a quirk. Which widget are you trying to put in your sidebar? Is it the Feeds widget or the RSS widget? I ask because the Feeds one should appear right away, but RSS will only appear in your blog’s sidebar if you’ve put a feed address into it; so if you’ve got it in the sidebar but the widget is empty, that might be why it’s not appearing.
Otherwise, you’ve definitely clicked save changes and made sure it’s updated? Perhaps you could try taking the widget out of your sidebar and bringing it back in, just to see if that makes a difference. I like your layout, btw. Gives all us Blixers some hope. :)

Thanks for the response… Ya I never tried added the Feeds widget because I wanted to have a RSS icon in my sidebar. I should of clarified it when I wrote my original message.
The feed widget works, but I would like to have the RSS widget with an icon.
Can anyone help me with that???Oh and thanks about the compliments on my layout. It was hell decripting the whole thing. But now I am really happy about it. Only thing, I can’t seem to find where the green bar is from. I would of like to make it another color… oh well. Thats not the issue here.

Hm, well the RSS widget doesn’t quite work like that. You could set it to your blog’s feed http://glamourthis.wordpress.com/feed/ which will give you the icon, but it’ll do more than that – it’ll also list all the recent posts on your blog and take away the subscribe link. So that’s probably not what you want. :)
There’s one way around that, though. That little RSS image is actually standard with all WP blogs; so if you know the address, you can recreate it as an image for your sidebar. Then all you have to do is make it link to your feed and put that code into a text widget. I think this is it below; if you copy this code exactly into a text widget, it should give you what you want. It’s worked for me before.

If you do then adding a simple background: #F3B2B9; to each of the three should make it pink. But I’m not sure if you have those three properties in your CSS; I was looking in Firebug and it depends how detailed it is. So sorry if I get your hopes up for nothing. I still like your design, though; given me a few ideas for when I finally get round to it myself. :)
