RSS Feed Returning a 404

  I recently moved a blog from barefootandsmitten.wordpress.com to thenikblogs.wordpress.com. In the last week or two, I suddenly noticed that http://barefootandsmitten.wordpress.com/feed/ is returning a 404 error. Two questions:

  1. What step was taken that suddenly made that return a 404 instead of the actual feed list? (Or was it returning a 301/302 and I just wasn’t paying attention because it worked?)
  2. What can I do to get that URL to return a 301 to http://thenikblogs.wordpress.com/feed/?

  Hi there,

  When you changed the blog name, you effectively deleted that old blog name, which is why it is now returning a 404 error (including for the RSS feed). There is no way for it to now be forwarded to your new page.
