RSS feed to WXR format

  Is there a way to convert the normal wordpress RSS feed to the wordpress export format (WXR)?

  (why do I need this? The export function on my self hosted blog is not working and I want to take a backup from the feed for the same that can be imported later). And no, dont give me alternate solutions please like DB backup etc).
