RSS Feed Widget Formatting
-
I love wordpress and would never change, however, I am always jealous of my friends’ on blogger whose rss feed widgets seem to be formatted so much nicer than wordpress. The wordpress rss feed widget IMO is UGLY! Is there any way to reformat it? Or perhaps insert a different rss feed through the use of a text box rather than the RSS feed widget. I’ve searched the forums and it seems like the answer is probably no and that we are stuck with UGLY RSS feeds until somebody at wordpress decides to redesign them for us. Any thoughts?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No way to use a different widget or code since it require code that is not allowed here for security reasons.
If you have a decent knowledge of CSS and buy the CSS upgrade, you can do a lot of things to it as far as styling.

Thank-you sir! I have been avoiding learning CSS for a long time. It’s a lack-of-time issue more than anything else. Do you have any advice on how to start learning CSS?

stoutchap,
No way to use a different widget or code since it require code that is not allowed here for security reasons. That info is way back-dated.
Now we know how to embed Flash (and in some instances iframe) widgets in a wordpress.com blog if you can “outwit” the system.
It is possible to embed Flash RSS feeds in a wordpress.com blogs using third-party services.
See this post.
Although I used a Tumblr feed, you can use any feed to create a gorgeous RSS feed (some can even show images!) that you can put anywhere in your wordpress.com blog.
* Don’t go for embetit, it doesn’t update the info.

With over 73.5 million iPhones sold, and iPads now at 14.8 million, using flash feeds is leaving huge blank spots on your site for them since they don’t support flash. You have to keep things like that in mind when using “workarounds.”

I should mention that I’m not against flash, but as a web designer I’m getting calls now from potential clients that have flash rich websites that are now starting to get a lot of complaints from their visitors and users that are using iPhones and iPads that they cannot use their sites.
This is a trend that people should keep in mind. The iPhone and the iPad are not going away and there is little chance that Apple will ever support flash unless Adobe gets religion and actually makes flash into something that is not such a memory and processor hog. I don’t have a lot of hope for that.
