RSS feed won’t show although I followed WordPress instructions
-
I followed these instructions for putting an RSS feed icon on my sidebar of Vigilance, but I do not see the orange icon. Here are the instructions that I followed:
Put your feed in your sidebar
feed icon
If you want to show your feed link:
* Go to Appearance -> Widgets
* Add a Text Widget to your sidebar
* Open it by clicking the blue lines
* The first box is for the title to display and the second box is for the text widget contents. Type the following into the second box:
<img src=”image-location” />
* Save the changesPlease advise what to do next. (Other than wait. :-) )

I just now found this reply from you! I am looking at what you typed in the box above. Should I copy that and paste it into the RSS FEED widget in my Sidebar?
Specifically, should I paste it into the box titled: Enter the RSS dwws URL here:
What part of what you typed up there goes where in the RSS widget box?????

No, you paste it into a text widget. The RSS widget is for displaying RSS for other sites.

Dear Sacred Path, I followed your advice about using the text widget rather than the RSS widget and it went smoothly. Then I watched that YouTube video which explained about subscriptions and got a better sense of what it is.
The world is good again. :-)
