RSS post feed issue

    Hi!

    I have a temporary blog for an English Camp we are doing this summer and I noticed that the RSS post feed links to the entire blog and not just each individual post. On my RSS reader it shows up as an individual new post but then shows the entire blog when I open it up.

    I’m wondering if this is because I have my posts password protected? I have the same password for each post and when you enter the password they all open up.

    I can’t think of why else it would be buggy but it’s frustrating as when you go on your reader to a new post you don’t necessarily want to see all the old ones as well.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    I am a bit confused and wonder if I have fully understood it. Still I’ll attempt answering it. I subscribed to your RSS feeds before answering your query.

    The default RSS feed of the blog always links to the entire blog. You can also however create RSS feeds for separate categories/items using Feedburner.

    The RSS feeds usually shows a number of posts in the reader and that is only a good thing. You can however change the number of posts it shows and limit it to just one! But that will not be a good idea according to me. Let many posts show there; the new unread ones are in bold because they are unread. Any user of RSS reader knows that and that is how it is and it should be! :)

    If you still want to change it you can manipulate the number of posts from Dashboard> Reading> Syndication feeds show the most recent______ posts! You can also change the settings to show only extract/summary of the posts and not the full posts so that one has to click the link to your blog to read the full post.

    BTW I did not find any password-protected posts on your blog’s home page! Are you correctly password protecting your posts?! A password protected post is like this (example from my blog; feel free to unlock it): http://vikasgupta.wordpress.com/2009/02/18/surprise-the-password-is-love/

    The FIRST time someone opens a feed they’ve subscribed to, it has the entire blog because they’ve never read those posts via Feed before. Subsequent viewings will only have the newest things.
