RSS widget displays feed content when unchecked

I couldn’t find a similar topic in the forum. I was checking my RSS widgets because some display in the title the link to my blog instead of to the feed, when the feed is down or having trouble.

I just noticed the working rss widgets in my sidebar display the feed content when the mouse is hovered over a title of the entry. This occurs whether or not I have checked the box in the widget to display content.

    a) is this a new feature? (never noticed before but I don’t expect widgets to change)
    b) is this an error or is there a master RSS widget control

    Thank you.

I believe it is a setting on the other end. I’ve got several feeds in my sidebar. Some show content (a single line in FF2, more in FF3) others show none.

if that’s the case (the widgets act like mini-feed readers in FF3) it would be nice if we could control their display on the WordPress.com blog. Blogger doesn’t display the entire feed, just the html title .

It’s almost as distracting as Snap Shots
