    Hi!
I have a problem with my RSS widget. I’ve tried to “feed” the widget because I wan’t my readers to see the articles and blogs I like from google reader.I think I’ve done everything right, but the message I get when I look at my blog, is “An error occured. The stream is probably down. Try again later.” I have tried several times, but it doesn’t work. Can somebody help? My blog is in norwegian. I have my own domene name (www.maryathomewriting.com), but don’t have a self-hosted WordPress.ORG blog. My original name is http://www.maryathome.wordpress.com.

    Maria

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the feed URL you are trying to display in the widget?

Oh, oh! I thought I was supposed to display the RSS feed into the widget, not the URL.
    Then I understand!
    Thank you:)

Since the topic of RSS has come up – I’ll admit I really do not understand it much. There is an RSS symbol on my home page but I have NO IDEA what it means or does.

TSP, you are NOT allowed to laugh at my innocent ignorance, just point me in the direction of an explanation. Remember I started in IT in the days of hierarchical databases – all this web stuff is mostly still foreign to me. At least that is my story and I’m sticking to it!

@teamoyeniyi – RSS is effectively a way of keeping track of all of your favorite webpages. You need to get an RSS account, say with Google Reader. Then when you visit my webpage, and you really like it, you can mark it to be sent to your RSS reader. So, from then on, anytime I update my website, the updates will appear in your reader (which is quite similar to an email inbox). This can be done for as many websites as you want; your favorite blogs, new-sites, etc. See, simple!
