Rubbish punctuation in headers

Central in ‘scoring more goals than opposition’ shock!

Can anyone please read the headline of this story, and then explain to me why the first apostrophe is the wrong way round? There’s only one apostrophe button on a keyboard – the software is supposed to know which round it’s meant to go depending on where it is in relation to the character it precedes / proceeds from. Frequently in WordPress headlines, it ends up the wrong way round. And as someone who actually notices these things, I find it a little irritating…

Any ideas on how I can make it do the right thing every time?

Presuming you typed it in, rather than pasting it from a word processing program, that error would be because of the theme. Some themes handle quotation marks better than others.

How irritating. One that I put up the other day was absolutely fine. Ah well…

I just set up this theme Digg3 on my test blog and created a test post with punctuation in the title as above. The punctuation marks are displaying correctly in the title of that test post so I do not not think this is theme related but, of course, I could be wrong.
