Rubric theme: Can the blockquote have different color from the text please?

I’m using the Rubric theme. When I blockquote a text, the quoted text isn’t any darker than the normal text. For example, this is a post I made today. The quoted text (Brandon Short had…) is the same white color as the normal text making it harder to differentiate between the two. Here’s a quote in another theme I found on wordpress.
Can you tweak the Rubric theme so blockquoted text is darker? Or if you don’t want to change the Rubric theme, can you create a Rubric #2 theme that’s the same as Rubric but with the blockquote tweak?

All the themes used here, with the exception of a couple are designed by individual designers and then adopted and modified as required for this particular blogging platform. It was the theme designer’s choice to show blockquoted text with a simple indent. WordPress seldom makes changes to the basic design of the themes used here. They honor the original design.
Your choices are to either live with it, change to a different theme that displays blockquotes in a style more to your liking, or if you have some CSS editing experience, buy the CSS upgrade and change it yourself. Do not buy the CSS upgrade if you do not have at least a general understanding of CSS and how it relates to the markup since there are only a couple here in the forums with any CSS experience, and they only come in occasionally to answer questions. There is no official support for the CSS upgrade.

Wow, I had pretty much given up on the Bueno theme because of the same reason SoX was inquiring on theirs, Pan. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/06/19/formatting-text-pt-2/…. NOW I HAVE TO START EXPERIMENTING again..

Okay Pan, thanks, I was able to change the bg color in my Blockquote by the Code method that your link instructs: Next question, or 2 actually: I only used the “Word” Gray, but would probably have to find the actual color code, as the words( Light Gray) do not work…Okay, but, my question is this: Once I find the color that I am satisfied with, can I integrate this code into my (blockquote) option, on the editor? Or, would I actually have to (Code Jockey) each individual post?

Each individual post (unless you have the paid CSS upgrade).
If you use a grey bg color, it should be very light. But I don’t think grey is the best option for Quentin. Anyway, nice color palette here:

You will have to add the code each time you want to make your custom-colored “blockquote.” Just save the code snippet in a simple text document or in a draft page so you can just copy and paste it whenever you need it.
Panos has a couple of color-selecting links in his left sidebar. Or use an image program like PhotoShop to choose a grey, then use the hex code.

Yeah okay, well, I may just keep looking for a template.. I was only checking to see how rusty my code jokey skills had become by the instructions that Pan was offering, but, I think my Web Site building time is more limited to actual research and writing on the blog now.

yes, what I wanted to say was the color of the background. that’s why I wrote “The quoted text (Brandon Short had…) is the same white color as the normal text making it harder to differentiate between the two. ” I should’ve said the bg color, not the text color!

The difference between span and div:
span is for a word or phrase with a style of formatting.div is for an entire section: one, two, or multiple paragraphs, images, tables, etc.
A div can be used to format an entire post. -

a section of a post for example, which means all paragraphs or other entities you would include in your posts. -
