Running adsense ad on Purchased domain on Hosted site by wordpress

    hi i want to know i was thinking to buy domain on wordpress.com but soon came to know that you cannot run adsense ads on wordpress.com hosted site but you can run them on self hosted what is this problem and how to overcome it
