Running Blog in a domain and Site in Subdomain

  1) I created a new BLOG at WORDPRESS.COM carlaact.wordpress.com

  2) REGISTERED a domain name carlatavares.com thru wp

  3) Then I realized that the blog has its limitations for themes and widgets

  4) Just so that my client can start posting her content right away, she’ll be using the carlatavares.com blog

  5) And I will start creating a WEBSITE using a clean install of WP.org

  6) I would like to use the subdomain new.carlatavares.com for the WP SITE and the carlatavares.com for the WP BLOG

  7) Done that, however, when I hit submit the login using the SUBDOMAIN page http://new.carlatavares.com/wp-login.php it automatically takes me to http://carlaact.wordpress.com/wp-login.php

  How can I run a test environment in a subdomain without interfering with the blog version?

  I found the issue. When I installed WP in my server I put the name as carlatavares.com instead of NEW.carlatavares.com

  So I edited the record in Database.

  Table: wp_options
  Record: siteurl

  Once I’ve done that I was able to login to the correct admin page.

  duh!
