Running local ads on a local non-profit online magazine

  Can I run local ads on my site? I currently have a wordpress.org site whidbeylifemagazine.org which is a local online magazine and I would like to move it to wordpress.com and keep the local ads that are present in the right sidebar and in the top slider? Is that possible?

  Also, do you have some developers there that can be hired to do some PHP programming in order to further customize a wordpress.com site?

  We do have an advertising program called WordAds.

  Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed.
  There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
