Safari Support – TInyMCE 3?
-
According to their wiki, forums and using their testbed (http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/example_full.php?example=true), TinyMCE is now fully supported in Safari 3. Any idea when this will make it into WordPress.com?

Not until the equivalent of WordPress 2.5 makes it’s appearance here at WordPress.com, which will be a little bit yet.

On the TinyMCE website as well:

I’ve tested the new 2.5 and the new editor and the editor works very well with Safari 3.x. It will however not support Safari 2.x. 3 and later only! Safari 3 works with OS X 10.4.11 and later only. If you are on 10.3.x, you will have to upgrade to 10.4 or 10.5, and if you are using 10.4 but have not kept up on updates, you will have to get all the 10.4 updates (10.4.11). The 10.4.11 update includes Safari 3.

I think the lack of Safari 2 support is of minimal impact. I do web development, and Safari 3 penetration is at 90% or so (at least at all the sites I author, and these are general audience, not tech).

I would love to see some official numbers on that. At my own routers, we’re seeing less than 1% for all Safari users with 3.2% on my own personal blog.

Here are some new numbers. Short version: Safari 2 usage is miniscule.
