Safe guarding my photographs
-
I have uploaded my photographs in my wordpress blog and I dont want other people to download and use them without my knowledge. I dont mind if they use it after getting my permission and giving me some credit. What do I do?

Watermarking is about the sure-fire way:

@TSP,
I am sure watermarking is the best way. But in the age of digital imaging, that again is a weak measure against ‘piracy’.
How effective is placing a “Creative Commons’ logo in the blog?
And how does that thing work?For instance, I place a CC logo in my blog. Will that deter pirates from downloading my stuff?

In my experience, if you place anything on the internet, they will get downloaded and used, one way or another. There are just too many out there that think whatever is put on the internet is theirs for the taking. Copyright and creative commons logos and such only stop the people who are honest, it doesn’t stop those who are not. Once an image from your blog or website is displayed on someone’s computer, it is already there in the cache. Even the javascript solutions don’t protect you since they can always take a screenshot if they want it badly enough.
That’s just the sad truth.
