Save draft without posting?
-
Last night I wrote a new post under the category of “philosophy”. I saved it as a draft so that I could spell check it this morning and then post it. But when I finally posted it, it did not show up in my “philosophy” reader until I scrolled waaaaay down to about 1:00am last night (when I saved the draft). Is there a way to save the draft without the post showing as if it were published at the time that the draft was saved?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s very odd. You can edit the post and change the datestamp and/or timestamp but if the post has been indexed by Google I don’t recommend foing that as doing it will create a 404 (page not found) and Google only clears their caches every 3 – 6 months. I have flagged this thread for Staff attention.

Yes, before and after publishing, can alter the posts’s published date via the Publish box to the right of the post editor.

I think that’s the real issue I’m getting at. I don’t want my post to be on the Reader until it’s published. Does it show up even if it’s not complete?
-
No, it only appear when it has been Published. To get around the issue, just make sure that you adjust the publish date before Publishing.

Thank you. I’ll be sure to do that in the future. It seems like it would make a whole lot more sense, though, if they just waited to include a publish date until it was actually published.
