Save Original CSS Sheet Locally?
-
Hi –
I’m trying to learn CSS (I have the upgrade) and I keep referring to the original stylesheet for the Twenty Eleven theme. Is it okay to copy that to a text editor on my computer? I’m afraid I’m going to make a mistake and end up changing or deleting something in the dashboard or firebug CSS sheet.
Thanks!

Yes, just copy it out and paste into a plain text file for reference.
Don’t worry about making mistakes. At wordpress.COM, you are not editing the original CSS, what you are doing is creating new rules to override the existing rules. You can always return to the original by simply deleting everything from the CSS edit window, make sure “add to existing…” is selected and then click “save stylesheet.”

Thank you, thesacredpath!
Thank you, too, for your help throughout the forums – much of the code I have overridden correctly is due to searching the forums and finding your advice to others.
